In an engineering or manufacturing facility it is always useful to reference information or charts in a readily accessible format. GD&T information is probably the most important reference material for mechanical engineers and manufacturers who deal with parts and assemblies with tight tolerances. If you work with welding in the design or manufacturing side of engineering, it can be very useful to post a larger reference chart showcasing weld joints and weld symbols for everyone to see. Far too often while speaking with colleagues or personnel on the shop floor, information about welding is forgotten or simply unknown. Being able to stand by a chart and show or reference information as a group is much easier than gathering around a phone or in a conference room.
