How Things Work: What Are Flexible Displays?

Flexible displays use electronic paper technologies originally co-developed by ASU and HP. These displays are manufactured using the HP labs developed SAIL method of layering “semi-conductor materials and metals between pliable plastic sheets”. FOLED displays replace a glass panel with a flexible plastic panel with a 100 nm thick organic semiconductor film.
